Requirements for Sponsor
Must be 18 years of age or older
Physically reside in Canada
Meet minimum necessary income level for three consecutive years
Sign a sponsorship agreement to provide financial support for sponsored relative for a period of 20 years
You may not be eligible to sponsor parent or grandparent if you
Received government financial assistance for reasons other than a disability
Have declared bankruptcy
Failed to provide the financial support to previously sponsored relatives
Were convicted of a serious crime
Are currently in prison

Parent/Grandparent must have medical, criminal and background checks
